Eco-dye and Botanical Printing at Princes Hill Community Centre. July 2021

We just squeezed this one in between lockdowns. On the 31st of July we had a full house (COVID safe of course) at Princes Hill Community Centre for my Eco-dye, Botanical Printing and Yarn Making Workshop. Some familiar faces and some new ones gathered to explore the alchemical magic of the dye pot and foraged flora. While the bundled papers were brewing away, participants learned to make a simple 2 ply yarn using paper strips and corn husks. It is always so fascinating to see how much variation is achieved in the results, even though the same paper, same flora and same dye pots were shared and used by everyone. This workshop will run again on the 27th of November so all those who couldn’t get into this one can explore an eco-dye and botanical printing experience.
